Please click on a question, or see below for the answers.

How can I try CreativeNotes?

You can download a 30-day free trial of CreativeNotes. Go to our download page by clicking on the 'Download' link at the top of this web page.

Apart from the 30-day limit, the trial version of CreativeNotes has all the functions of the fully registered version.

How can I buy CreativeNotes?

If you want to use CreativeNotes for longer than 30 days, you can buy it by clicking on the 'Purchase' link at the top of this web page. This takes you to a sales page where you can enter your payment details. This page is hosted by Handango, one of the most respected sales sites, so you can be sure your information is safe.

How do I register?

When you buy CreativeNotes, you will be sent an email, containing your registration code. You have to type this code into CreativeNotes, so that it knows to remove the 30-day limit that applies to the trial version. To do this, tap the 'tool' button on the toolbar, or choose the Tools menu, and then select Register from the pop-up menu.

Will CreativeNotes run on my PDA?

CreativeNotes Mobile Edition is equally at home on Windows 5 or 6, or on PC 2003 or 2003 Second Edition. It will also run on your phone if the phone is running Windows Mobile, but only if it has a touch-sensitive screen.

CreativeNotes will not run on Pocket PC 2000 or earlier models, or on Palm devices.

If you have a device with a high resolution screen, CreativeNotes makes full use of it to provide enhanced graphics. If you have a square or landscape oriented screen, CreativeNotes will use that quite happily.

My trial period has expired. What should I do?

You can use CreativeNotes on a trial basis for up to 30 days, but then you have to buy it, if you want to continue using it. You can see how much time you have left by looking at the About screen. Tap the 'tool' button, then select 'About CreativeNotes from the pop-up menu. If you do want to buy it, please click on 'Purchase' at the top of this page.

You can still access the CreativeNotes registration screen, even if your time limit has been exceeded.

I have bought a new Pocket PC. Will my registration code still work on the new device?

When you get a new device, please make sure you enter the same Owner Name. Tap Start -> Settings -> Owner Information, and enter your name in the Name field. Then your registration code will continue to work on your new device.

When I installed CreativeNotes, why did I get a warning about an unknown publisher?

Some Windows Mobile devices look to see if software has been digitally signed, using embedded security certificates, during application installation. Starting with CreativeNotes version 4.0, our code is digitally signed, so you are less likely to see these warnings. However if you do see a warning, please just acknowledge it and continue installation.

How do I back up my notes?

CreativeNotes stores your notes as normal files. Mobile Edition lets you store them on your device main memory, or on a removable memory card. You can use CreativeNotes Desktop Edition to maintain a synchronized copy of all your notes, on your PC. Or you can use ActiveSync to copy the files to your PC.

On your Windows PC, use your normal backup software to back up your CreativeNotes files. On Vista, these are in the Documents\CreativeNotes folder, and on XP they are in My Documents\CreativeNotes, unless you have chosen a different folder for your notes.

Can I import information from other applications?

Yes, there are several ways of doing this. For example, you can import a text file and convert it into a note. To do this, close any note that may be open, and then tap the 'tool' button and then tap Import Note. Then set 'Type' to Text Files, and browse to the file you want to import. Each line of the text file becomes an item in your note, and if lines are indented they become child items.

You can also import files as attachments to items in your notes. To do this, create an attachment and tap on the 'Open file' button.

You can also copy and paste information from other applications, for example web pages, into attachments to items in your notes.

How do I draw pictures in my notes?

The Pocket PC version of CreativeNotes allows you to have attachments containing text and / or pictures. To draw a picture on an attachment, tap the 'pen' button on the attachment screen. Tap the pen button again if you want to go back to typing text into your attachment.

Attachments with pictures can not be viewed with CreativeNotes Desktop Edition.
